The Niagara Purple Eagles conclude their road and conference schedule this week with matches against Rider on Thursday and Monmouth on Friday.  

Scene Setter
  • The Purple Eagles remain in search of their first win of the season after dropping a pair of matches at Fairfield and Siena.
  • Darrel Harxhi leads the team with five wins.
  • Brent Boleslav won a three-set match at Siena to be the first Purple Eagle to win a MAAC match.

Across the Net: Rider Broncs
  • Rider is 3-10 on the season and 0-5 in league play after falling to Marist in its most recent match.
  • Four Broncs are tied for the team lead in wins at four.
  • The Purple Eagles have won 18 straight in the series.

  • The Purple Eagles closed out their season with a sweep of the Rider Broncs.
  • NU won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles.
  • NU won all six singles matches in straight sets.

Across the Net: Monmouth Hawks
  • Monmouth, the three-time defending MAAC champion, is 15-1 on the season, including a 5-0 record in MAAC matches, and is on a 13-match win streak. The Hawks lone defeat was against Navy.
  • Monmouth's No. 1 Srdjan Jakovljevic is 20-2 on the season, including 11-0 at one singles.
  • Six other Hawks have won double-digit singles matches.
  • Sergio Martinez and Max Benaim are a team-best 15-3 in doubles, while Nicola Pipoli and Will Cooke Whatrton is 5-0 in MAAC matches.
  • Niagara has lost all six meetings to Monmouth, including in the 2015 MAAC semifinals, since the Hawks joined the conference from the 2013-14 season.
