NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles baseball team fell to Quinnipiac, 3-1, in the final game of a three-game series on Saturday.

Game Recap
  • The Bobcats took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning off a two-RBI double.
  • In the bottom of the third, Niagara got on the board. Max Giordano singled to left field, scoring Benny Serrano to half Quinnipiac's lead, 2-1.
  • Quinnipiac scored one more run in the top of the fifth to extend its lead, 3-1.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Tyler Howard (3-4) threw his third complete game of the season. He fanned seven, allowing 11 hits and three earned runs. He walked just one batter.
  • Michael Gabriele led the Purple Eagles with two hits. Serrano, Giordano and Alex Zulia each had one hit.
  • Giordano had one RBI.

  • The Purple Eagles play in a tournament at Binghamton on April 6. Niagara will face Central Connecticut State at 12:00 p.m. and against the Bearcats at 3:00 p.m.
