Biography

Why Niagara?
“I chose Niagara because it is a perfect fit for me. When I went on my first tour, I loved everything about it and everyone seemed so welcoming, especially the coaches of the baseball team. I cannot wait to start my new life at Niagara University!”

2018 (Redshirt-Junior)
Played in 30 games and started 14…Had 16 runs, eight hits, one double, one triple and two RBIs…Went 8-for-9 in stolen bases.

2017 (Redshirt-Sophomore)
Appeared in 31 games and started in 21...Finished the season with 17 hits, 21 runs, six RBI, seven doubles, five stolen bases and a .207 batting average. 

2016 (Redshirt-Freshman)
Appeared in 38 games and started in 20...Against Iona on May 1, he went 2-for-5 at the plate and had two RBIs...Against St. Bonaventure on April 19, he stole a season-high three bases,

Before Niagara
From Hudson High School in Hudson, NY...The three-sport athlete was a four-year letterman in baseball...Had a break out year in the summer of 2013 in which he played 38 games and recorded a .351 BA, 40 runs, 53 stolen bases, and 20 RBI’s in the ENYTB...As a reward for his work, he was named to the All-Tournament team for the NABF World Series...In the summer of 2014, while playing for Kevin Rodgers and the South Troy Dodgers, Blanks was a Connie Mack World Series quarterfinalist...In addition to his baseball achievements, Blanks was an excellent track athlete...In 2013 he won NYS Class B 200m and 4x100m relay and followed that with a runner-up in the 200m in 2014...Off the field, Darian was an honor roll student.

Born in Hudson, New York… Son of Daryl and Adrianne… Two siblings, Mykel and Tiana… Hopes to someday become a financial advisor.
