WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. –  The Niagara Purple Eagles competed at the 10
th Annual Purdue Fall Invitational from October 4-6. NU had a strong showing in a competitive field with 
Darrel Harxhi and 
Pere Padro each going 2-1 in singles matches.
Invitational Summary
Singles
	- Darrel Harxhi, the defending Flight I champion, moved up to play in Flight D.  He won his opening round match, 6-3, 6-1, against Stritch's Francesco Tacconi. He followed with a three-set win, 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-2 over Ball State's Parrish Simmons.
- Harxhi fell in the semifinals in a close two-setter, 7-5, 7-6(1), to eventual champion Jan Vrba (Xavier).
- Pere Padro notched two wins playing in Flight F. Padro defeated Purdue NW's Paul Hawes, 6-4, 6-0, in the first round before falling to Marquette's Will Tennsion in straight sets. He bounced back with a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over PNW's Jonluke Passett.
- Manuel Alonso went 1-2 competing in Flight D, picking up a win over Green Bay's Ivan Radomiriovic, 6-3, 6-0.
- Harsh Banthia went 1-1 in Flight G with his win coming in the first round against PNW's Dru Kennedy.
- Jorge Sedeno played in the loaded Flight B bracket and lost both of his matches.
Doubles
	- Niagara's No 1 team (Sedeno/Harxhi) lost two close matches in Flight A. The duo fell 6-4 to a team from Army and Xavier.
- The team of Alonso/Banthia went 1-2 in Flight C, earning a 7-6 win over PNW's Villacres/Passett in the consolation round.
- In Flight B, Bruno Goncalves and Pere Padro dropped two matches before winning their third by default.

	- The Purple Eagles will participate in the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals hosted by Penn from Oct. 17-20.
