JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Niagara baseball team earned two dominant wins over Saint Peter's on Saturday to sweep its doubleheader with the Peacocks.
Game 1: Niagara 18, Saint Peter's 5
	- Niagara (14-22, 6-8 MAAC) jumped out to an early lead over the Peacocks (0-32, 0-14 MAAC). In the top of the first inning, Peter Battaglia grounded out to second base, scoring Julian Gallup. An RBI double from Owen Dziados put NU up, 2-0.
- The Purple Eagles extended their lead in the top of the second. Gallup singled, plating Benny Serrano. With bases loaded, Battaglia was walked and Joseph Tevlin scored. A two RBI single from Dziados gave Niagara a 6-0 lead over the Peacocks.
- Niagara added on another run in the third to take a 7-0 lead.
- The Purple Eagles continued their offensive momentum in the top of the fourth. Tevlin doubled to left field, sending Serrano and Wyatt Olson home. Greg Cullen then singled to left center to score Tevlin. A two RBI double from Battaglia put the Purple Eagles up by double figures, 12-0.
- In the top of the fifth, Gallup doubled to right center, scoring Dziados, Serrano and Michael Gabriele. A score from Gallup gave the Purple Eagles an impressive 16-0 lead.
- The Peacocks got on the board in the bottom of the fifth and added on two more runs in the sixth but the Purple Eagles held tight to the lead, 16-3.
- Niagara scored three more times in the top of the seventh to extend its lead, 18-3.
- Saint Peter's added on one run in the seventh and one in the eighth but the Purple Eagles remained in command and earned the win. This win is tied for NU's largest margin of victory this season.
- Cullen, Dziados and Serrano led the Purple Eagles in hits with three each.
- Battaglia and Gallup had a team-high four RBIs, while Dziados recorded three.
- Gallup led the team in stolen bases with two.
- On the mound, Cody Eckerson (2-4) fanned a career-high 11 batters in 7.0 innings pitched.
Game 2: Niagara 9, Saint Peter's 1
	- In the top of the first, a sacrifice fly from Dziados scored Gabriele and a three RBI double from Trevor McCauley gave the Purple Eagles a 4-0 lead over the Peacocks.
- The Peacocks scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the first.
- Niagara extended its lead in the top of the fourth inning. Gallup doubled to left field, scoring Matt Zaremba, and Cullen grounded out to first, sending Gallup home to put NU up, 6-1.
- In the top of the fifth, Serrano doubled to score Dziados and, in the bottom of the sixth, Battaglia doubled to right center to send home Niagara's final two runs of the day.
- McCauley led the Purple Eagles with three RBIs and Battaglia had two RBIs.
- Matthew Brash (1-1) picked up his first win of the season, fanning a season-high six batters in 4.1 innings pitched.
