Cody Eckerson struck out nine batters in Niagara's 5-4 loss to Marshall on Friday to break a Niagara baseball record. Eckerson now holds the record for most career strikeouts with 200, passing Chris Begg's (1999-2001) previous record of 195 career strikeouts.

Game Recap
- Marshall got on the board first, taking a 2-0 lead over the Purple Eagles in the bottom of the third inning.
- The Purple Eagles came back to tie things up, 2-2, in the sixth inning. A double from Battaglia scored Trevor McCauley and a sac fly from Owen Dziados sent Greg Cullen home.
- Marshall scored once in the seventh inning and once in the eighth to take back the lead, 4-2.
- In the top of the eight, Battaglia singled, scoring McCauley. Cullen then scored on a throwing error by the Herd's second baseman to tie the score, 4-4.
- Both teams went scoreless in the ninth, forcing the game into extra innings. In the 11th inning, an RBI single from the Herd earned them the 5-4 walk-off win.
