- Boston College got on the board first, taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. The Eagles tacked on one run in the fourth and sixth innings and seven runs in the seventh to put NU in an 11-0 hole.
- In the top of the ninth, with bases loaded, Benny Serrano grounded out to first base, scoring Dawson Bailey for NU's first run of the game. A single from Gabriele scored Trevor McCauley and Peter Battaglia, but it was not enough for the Purple Eagles to overcome the Eagles.
