- The Purple Eagles opened their 2018 slate with a three-game series at Longwood University Feb. 23-24. NU defeated the Lancers in game one, 15-2, and fell to Longwood in both games of a doubleheader (8-7, 5-4) on Feb. 24.
- Greg Cullen led the Purple Eagles at the plate, batting .600 on the weekend with a 1.133 slugging percentage. In game one, Cullen went a perfect 6-for-6 at the plate, and went 9-for-15 overall. He had five runs scored, six RBIs, one triple and two homeruns. Cullen was named MAAC Player of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 27 after his stellar weekend.
- Owen Dziados had one homerun for the Purple Eagles and Dziados and Trevor McCauley each had four RBIs. McCauley also had five runs scored.
