Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Play At Binghamton Championships

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Niagara University men's tennis completed its second invitational of the fall season at the Binghamton Championships. The Purple Eagles were joined by Binghamton, Colgate, NJIT, and Bucknell.

Invitational Summary
Singles

Three Purple Eagles were slated in the Green Flight with Josh Wilson and Taylan Ozdemir each picking up one win. Ozdemir defeated Colgate's Noah Rosenblat, 6-4, 6-2, and Wilson beat Bucknell's Max McDonald- Buck, 6-4, 6-2.
In the White draw, Lukas Wenninger defeated Kun Tan from Colgate in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 10-6) in the consolation quarterfinals. Wenninger fell in the tie breaker in the next round.
Pedro Padro Parra earned his first collegiate win when he defeated Tan, 7-6, 6-7, 10-4.

Doubles

The team of Taylan Ozdemir and Brent Boleslav picked up Niagara's lone win in the doubles round. The duo defeated a team from Bucknell, 7-6(7).

Up Next

Niagara will have its home opener at the Niagara University Tennis Courts on Sunday, Oct. 1 against Walsh University at 1 p.m.
