NORTH HAVEN, Conn. - The Niagara men's tennis team fell 7-0 at the Quinnipiac Bobcats on their senior day.
NU (4-10, 2-3 MAAC) lost all nine matches against Quinnipiac (10-6, 3-0 MAAC); however the Purple Eagles' top two singles players were edged in their respective matches.
Niagara's No. 1
Felipe Fuentes fell to Quinnipiac's Kei Ezaka in three sets which included two tiebreakers. Fuentes won the first set, 7-6(4), but Ezaka bounced back in the second set to win 7-6(2). Ezaka edged Fuentes in the deciding set, 7-5.
Brent Boleslav was nipped by Freddie Zaretsky, 7-5, 7-6(5), in two singles.
The schedule match with Sacred Heart on Sunday has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The Purple Eagles' next match with be at Marist on April 9.
