ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles fell to local rival St. Bonaventure, 5-2, on Friday.
 
Brent Boleslav and Joseph Smithyman each picked up their first wins of the spring to provide the scoring for the Purple Eagles.
 
NU was down 2-0 after dropping all three doubles matches and falling in No 2 singles when Smithyman won Niagara's first point with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Mitchell McGuirt in No. 5 singles. Boleslav won in straight sets in No. 4 singles over Christian Vasquez, 6-2, 6-2.
 
The Purple Eagles will face Daemen on Saturday at Noon.
