ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Niagara men's tennis team defeated the Rider Broncs with a 5-2 victory on Friday.
Niagara (4-8, 2-1 MAAC) won six of the eight matches played.
In doubles competition, the No. 1 team of
Felipe Fuentes and
Francis Nadeau topped Rider's No. 1 duo, 6-2. Niagara's No. 2 pair,
Joseph Smithyman and
Brent Boleslav picked up a 7-5 victory over the Broncs.
The Purple Eagles won four of the six singles matches played. Fuentes earned his fourth straight victory and Nadeau, Boleslav and Smithyman also picked up wins.
The Purple Eagles are back on the court Saturday, March 26 against Monmouth.
