The Niagara University men's and women's tennis teams begin MAAC play with matches against Fairfield and Siena this weekend.

First Serve
·         The Niagara men head into the weekend fresh off their second victory of the season, this one coming against Daemen College (N.Y.)
·         The men's team won four of five singles matches as well as coming away with a victory in doubles play
·         The women are headed into the weekend looking to turn their season around as they have lost their last two matches, most recently at Stony Brook
·         Shannon Wong continued her strong season picking up her sixth victory in singles play this season and grabbing the only point for the Purple Eagles against Stony Brook

Across The Net
·         The Fairfield men's team is 1-10 this season while the women's team is 0-8 and have only garnered one point this season
·         The NU men and women have both won the last two matches against the Stags
·         The Siena Saints' men's team is 0-7 this season while the women are 5-4 on the year, coming into the weekend off of a shutout victory against Colgate
·         The Niagara men have never lost to Siena in program history while the women's team has won the last five matches against the Saints

Match Points
·         Brent Boleslav and Joseph Smithyman lead the team thus far with two singles play victories while Lukas Wenninger and Jason Wisely will look to grab their first wins in tough conference matches this weekend
·         Doubles duo Francis Nadeau and Felipe Fuentes have grabbed two doubles wins this season, the teams only doubles victories
·         Shannon Wong has been having a solid season as she leads the team with nine singles victories and has four doubles wins combined, winning her last outing with partner Sharlee Desmukh
·         Freshman Haley Hollins has found her groove with the Purple Eagles as she is second on the team with seven wins, five of them coming within her last 10 matches
