Live VideoOn Tuesday, the Purple Eagles lacrosse team lost to the Colgate Raiders in a tightly-contested contest that ended 11-10 in overtime. After two overtime losses to start the season, the Purple Eagles turn their attention to the Robert Morris Colonials.
Last Time Out
- Niagara went to overtime again in its second game of the season at Colgate. For the second time, they came up on the short end, falling 11-10 to the Raiders.
 - Taylor Wolf (3+0) and Samantha Brill (2+1) led the team with three points apiece, while Sarah Arndt added two goals and Caroline Crump chipped in with a goal and an assist.
 - Andrea Francisco tied a career-best with 12 saves in net.
 - Niagara got out to a 2-0 lead to start the game with goals from Danielle Maio and Wolf. That would be the biggest lead by either team in the contest.
 - Rachel MacCheyne and Brill also scored in the first period, while Wolf's second goal of the afternoon 12 seconds before halftime made it a 5-5 game.
 - Niagara established a 9-8 lead halfway through the second period, and that score prevailed for almost 10 minutes until Colgate tied the game at nine apiece.
 - Colgate took the lead with 2:43 to play, but after winning the ensuing draw and taking a timeout to set the offense, Brill tied the game to send it to overtime.
 - Both goaltenders were strong in overtime, as Francisco made three of her 12 saves beyond regulation. Colgate got the winning goal, however, as Francisco stopped a free position shot from Colgate's Isabel Kreitler, but she picked up the rebound and scored on the second chance.

 Niagara Notes
- Niagara ranks second in the MAAC in both scoring defense (8.50 goals against per game) and save percentage (.452), trailing only Siena in both categories. Accordingly, Francisco trails only Siena's Samantha Horton in the MAAC with a goals-against average of 8.15.
 - The Purple Eagles' 20.0 ground balls per game is good for 15th nationally and second in the MAAC.
 - Also, Niagara ranks second in the MAAC with 8.50 caused turnovers per game.
 - The six goals allowed to Binghamton on Feb. 20 was the lowest goal total by a Niagara opponent since the Purple Eagles held Detroit to four goals in a 14-4 win on Apr. 2, 2014.
 - Taylor Wolf scored a hat trick in that win over Detroit as a freshman. That was the last time a Purple Eagles rookie scored three goals in a game before Alexis Morales did so at Binghamton.
 - All but one of Niagara's seven offensive points at Binghamton came from freshmen.

 Scouting the Colonials
- This is the seventh all-time meeting between Niagara and Robert Morris, with the Colonials holding a 4-2 edge in the series.
 - Niagara won the first two games between Robert Morris, but the Colonials have won four in a row, including wins each year from 2013 to 2015.
 - In last year's 12-10 loss, Molly Gray registered a hat trick, while Wolf had a goal and an assist.
 - Robert Morris is also looking for its first win of the season, having fallen 14-7 at Duquesne in its season opener.
 - Emily Jamison led the Colonials with two goals and two assists, while Jessica Karnacki tallied two goals.

 Next Appearance
- After taking on Colgate, Niagara heads to Florida for a two-game road trip down south. The Purple Eagles face Coastal Carolina in Jacksonville, FL on March 1 before taking on the University of Florida on March 4. The Gators are currently ranked fourth in the nation.
