Niagara Take A Trip To Arlington To Face George Washington

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles are set to head to the Nation's Capital to take on the George Washington University Colonials in a three-game series beginning on Friday, February 27.
 
The Purple Eagles (0-2) will be coming off a 13 day break due to four cancelled games over the past two weekends.
 
Niagara's offense is led by three players hitting .400 or better. Michael Fuhrman leads the team with a .667 batting average, followed by Thomas Rodriguez's .571, and Anthony Firenzi's .444. Taylor Hackett leads the way with three RBIs while Firenzi and Greg Rodgers are both 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts. As a whole, the Purple Eagles went swiped nine bags in 10 attempts over their first two games.
 
Nine players made their Niagara debut in the Governors Challenge, with Zach Glowacki turning in a stellar performance on the mound in his first collegiate action. The south paw went 2.1 innings of two hit, shutout ball against the Northern Illinois Huskies back on Valentine's Day.
 
The Colonials enter the weekend at 2-1 after splitting two games with NJIT and knocking off the Georgetown Hoyas this past Wednesday.
 
Niagara is 2-1 all-time against GWU, though they have not played since 1983.
