Women’s Soccer Hosts Quinnipiac Saturday

The Niagara women's soccer team returns home to continue conference play with a match under the lights against the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.

Purple Eagles 101
·         After battling Manhattan to a 1-1 tie on Sunday in Riverdale, N.Y., the Purple Eagles will be back on Monteagle Ridge where they enjoy a home field advantage with a 3-1-1 record on the season.
·         Niagara is 2-0-2 in its last four games with wins over Binghamton and Robert Morris.
·         Junior Hayley Besaw has pocketed a team-high five assists, including a pair of multiple-point contests. Senior Haillie Price has added a team-leading three goals. Freshman Eva Bachmann, seniors Courtney Pierce, Catherine Meyer and Kiley Titus, as well as junior Bianca Marrara have all contributed a goal each on the year.
·         Junior goalkeeper Claire Feiertag logged her fourth solo shutout, a career-high, in the win against RMU on Sept. 18.  Overall, Feiertag has made 29 saves for a .853 save percentage. The Ridgeway, Ont. native sports a 0.56 goals against average, which is tops in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

In the Conference
·         Besaw is tops in the conference in assists (5) and assists per game (0.62).
·         Price is tied for first in the MAAC with three game-winning goals.  The senior secured the Purple Eagles' season-opening victory at St. Bonaventure on Aug. 27, the 2-1 win over Binghamton on Sept. 12 and the 1-0 triumph over Robert Morris on Sept. 18
·         Feiertag holds the top spot in a pair of categories, leading the conference in goals against average (0.56) and save percentage (.853).  The Ridgeway, Ont. native is tied with Monmouth's Nicole D'Agostino with four shutouts.  

Taking a Looking at Quinnipiac
·         Quinnipiac will come to Niagara Field with a 1-5-1 overall record and 0-0-1 MAAC mark after drawing with Iona on Sept. 24. The Bobcats' lone win came on Sept. 13 against Vermont.  The Bobcats are 0-5-0 on the road this season with the losses coming at Maine, University of the Pacific, UC Davis, Yale and St. Joseph's.
·         Niagara and Qunnipiac played to a 1-1 tie in the first-ever meeting between the teams on Oct. 12, 2013 in Hamden, Conn. Goalie Claire Feiertag made nine saves in the match.

·         The Purple Eagles continue conference play with a three game road trip with stops at Canisius (10/1), Monmouth (10/4) and Siena (10/8).
