NIAGARA UNIV, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles will wrap up the 2014 season this weekend when they host the New Jersey Technical Institute Highlanders with games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This will be the final series for several seniors on the Purple Eagles' (16-31) roster. Kevin Paulsen, Mark Meisner, Drew Fittry, Geoff Soja, Joel Klock, Anthony Caringi, and Connor Sullivan will all take the field for the final time this weekend. Both Soja and Klock hold spots in the Niagara record book. Soja leads the program all-time with 87 appearances and 11 saves over his four-year career. His six saves last season are second for saves in a season. Klock, a three-year captain, is second in program history with 103 walks heading into the weekend. His 38 free-passes in 2012 are the most by any player in a single season.

Niagara enters the game on a four-game losing skid. They have found some individual success over that span with four players hitting above .300, including Michael Fuhrman's .462 batting average. Both Soja and Liam Stroud made appearances out of the bullpen and allowed one or fewer runs in over an inning.

New Jersey (20-21) has won seven of its last 10 contests. This won't be the Highlanders' first time going up against a team from the MAAC; they split four games with Rider and went 1-1 against Saint Peter's. Ed Charlton leads the team with 32 RBIs on the season. Mike Rampone leads the way with a .326 average and 15 doubles.

Tyler Kapp has the most appearances out of the bullpen and has a 2.74 ERA through 23.0 innings pitched. DJ Roche has thrown a team-leading four complete games this season.

The series begins with a single nine-inning game on Friday with first pitch at 4:00 p.m. Saturday's pair of seven-innings games will begin at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday's finale will start at noon.
