Baseball Takes On Little Three Rival St. Bonaventure

NIAGARA UNIV, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles have a quick turnaround after last weekend's series to face the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at Fred Handler Park tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

This rivalry has been fairly even over the past four seasons with Niagara (4-13) sitting one game away from .500 with a 4-5 record against St. Bonaventure (4-8). The teams split the lone doubleheader last season. Greg Rodgers had a share of the team-lead with two RBIs in the 6-3 Niagara win that began the day. St. Bonaventure took game two 4-0. The Purple and White went a perfect 2-0 against the Bonnies in 2010 when they won both games of the doubleheader 9-6 and 14-13.

This season, the Purple Eagles have gotten solid pitching and defensive efforts, but will look for the offense to turn around and get them their first win in eight games. The Bonnies, on the other hand, enter the matchup winners of four-straight after dropping their first eight contests of the season.

Tomorrow's doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning contest. It will be the final tune-up for Niagara before its first conference series this weekend against Siena.
