LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Niagara men's tennis cruised to a convincing sweep of the Rider Broncs, 6-0, in its MAAC opener on Friday.
The Purple Eagles (7-5, 1-0 MAAC) won all six singles matches in straight sets, while the doubles point was not played.
Michael Elortegui, Inaki Belloso, David Raymond won their respective matches 6-0, 6-1, in No. 1 -3 singles. Mathieu Lacassee defeated Nick Lubold, 6-1, 6-0 in the four spot, while Joe Smithyman and Matt Bojanowski closed out the wins on the evening.
Niagara will face the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (6-4) on Sunday.
