Follow @NiagaraUTennis for match updates.

The Niagara men’s and women’s tennis programs are back on the court this weekend for a dual match against the Bucknell Bison on Saturday in Olean, N.Y.

The Niagara men (4-1) lost their first match of the season last weekend at Duquesne, 6-1. The Purple Eagles’ 4-1 record is their best start since the 2005-06 season.

NU looks to rebound on Saturday against Bucknell (1-2). The Purple Eagles squeaked past the Bison in last season’s meeting in North Tonawanda, N.Y., 4-3. NU took the doubles point after winning all three matches, and picked up singles wins from David RaymondBrandon Gallegos and Olivier Dufour-Coursol.

The Purple Eagles women’s squad (2-3) also fell at Duquesne last Sunday. Freshman Sarah Hellstern improved to 3-0 on the season with a straight set win in No. 3 singles. NU women were edged, 4-3, in last season’s meeting with Bucknell (1-2). Ashley Ta, Maria Ortiz and Viki Sardellitti won singles matches for the Purple and White.
