The Niagara men’s and women’s tennis teams will start their weekend homestand on Friday at 3 p.m. when the men’s team host Duquesne at the Niagara Tennis Courts.

Both programs will face non-conference opposition to wrap up their home schedule. The Niagara men (6-6) will play Duquesne on Friday, St. Joseph’s on Satuday and Mercyhurst on Monday while the women’s team (4-10) will host St. Joseph’s on Saturday, Mercyhurst on Monday and St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.

The Niagara men’s team has won two of its last three matches. Freshman Olivier Dufour-Coursol leads the team this spring with 9-3 record and his 8-2 in his last 10 matches. Fellow Quebec native David Raymond and team captain Brandon Gallegos are tied for second with a 7-5 mark in singles.

The women’s squad split a pair of MAAC matches on the road last weekend. The Purple Eagles collected their first conference win of the season with a 5-2 win over Siena before being edged 4-3 by defending champion Marist.

Ashley Ta (9-5) extended her unbeaten streak in singles and doubles to eight matches and was named MAAC Player of the Week for going 4-0 against Siena and Marist. Hilary Hansen (10-4) has won her last three singles matches and Maria Ortiz leads the team with an 11-3 record.
