NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women’s lacrosse team wraps up the 2012 regular season with a conference matchup against the Marist Red Foxes on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. from Niagara Field.
This will mark the 18th time these two teams have met on the field, with the Red Foxes holding a slight edge in the series with 10 wins compared to Niagara’s seven. Last season, the Purple Eagles dropped a 19-7 decision to Marist. NU received contributions from seniors

Emily French who tallied two goals and senior
Colleen George who scored one goal.
The Purple Eagles (3-10; 0-5 MAAC) head into Saturday’s Senior Day match led by French, who has had a career-season with 26 goals, five assists and 31 points. Junior
Fran Pollastro has also been strong for the Purple Eagles, scoring 24 goals and five assists for 29 points, while senior
Nicole Karek has netted 14 goals, three assists for 17 points.
Sophomore
Kaitlin Sorgi and freshman
Nicole Wawro have recently been sharing time in net for Niagara. Sorgi has a 16.60 goals-against average and a .264 save percentage, while Wawro has made 22 saves in 135:43 minutes of playing time for a 14.59 goals-against average and a .400 save percentage.
Marist (3-12; 2-3 MAAC) is led by senior Ariel Kramer who has scored 20 goals, 13 assists and 33 points so far this season. The team has also had contributions from sophomore Jamie Romano (27-3-30) and junior Ashley Miller (25-3-28).
Junior Ashley Casiano will likely get the nod in net as she has made 140 saves for a 12.74 goals-against average and a .442 save percentage.
