POUGHEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Niagara men’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday to conclude its weekend road trip.

Niagara (6-6, 3-2 MAAC) fell in all three doubles matches to start the match. The Purple Eagles dropped their first two singles matches (No. 1 and No. 3) before Lorenz Schwojer outlasted Dalen Klassen in No. 3 singles, 4-6, 7-5, 10-6.
NU’ s No. 2 David Raymond lost a close three-set match to Will Reznek, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, as Marist (7-5, 3-0 MAAC) sealed the match.

“We knew Marist was a strong team going into duel,” head coach Anthony Nguyen said. “The guys competed hard, but we just did not play strong enough in some spots. Lorenz did a nice job of toughing out a victory. We will work hard in practice to get ready for a big weekend coming up.”

The Purple Eagles return home this week to begin a three-match homestand beginning on Friday against Duquesne
