NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles baseball team will try to improve on its 1-1 record when it travels to Richmond, S.C. to take on the Richmond Spiders in a three-game series.
Junior first baseman
Ryan McCauley will try to keep the momentum from last weekend rolling as the reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week hit two home runs and a pair of doubles while going 5-for-7 from the plate in the two games of the Davidson Tournament.
Drew Fittry will take the mound in game one of the series. The sophomore gave up only two runs in six innings pitched in his opening day start against Davidson last Friday.
Right handed pitcher
Kody Kasper is slated to take the mound in Saturday’s game and junior lefty
Jim Fort is scheduled to make his first start of the season in Sunday’s matchup.
