NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara women’s lacrosse team prepares for its season-opener on Saturday, Feb. 18 in a non-conference road matchup against the Albany Great Danes at 1 p.m.
Saturday’s game will be the tenth overall meeting between the two programs, with the first-ever meeting coming on May 5, 1996 in a 18-5 loss. The Purple Eagles are looking for their first win against the Great Danes as Albany has won all nine previous contests.

Amber Hill. The team boasts seven incoming freshmen, as well as a strong core of returning players including junior midfielder
Fran Pollastro who led the 2011 team in goals (22).
Senior
Emily French was a dominant presence in the midfield last season, registering 18 tallies while also picking up 23 ground balls and winning 22 draw controls. Fellow senior
Nicole Karek led the team with 27 points after accumulating 12 goals and 15 assists.
