NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – The Niagara men’s tennis team cruised to wins over RIT and MAAC foe Rider on Saturday in their first dual matches of the season.
NU (2-0, 1-0 MAAC) made quick work of the RIT Tigers (1-3) with a 7-0 win. The Purple Eagles didn’t drop a set in singles and had little trouble winning the doubles point.
The Purple Eagles were even more dominant later in the day against Rider (1-4, 0-2 MAAC) in their first conference match of the season. From one to five singles, Niagara only lost three games with
Brandon Gallegos and
Mathieu Lacasse winning their respective matches 6-0, 6-0. NU’s lone lost came in six singles in super tiebreaker.
