Past Winners 

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara men’s tennis freshman David Raymond has earned Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week honors after a strong showing at the Niagara Invitational this past weekend.  

The newcomer improved to 6-1 on the season after defeating Roberts Wesleyan’s Beka Buckukuri, 6-3, 6-2, and Merrimack’s Peter Golijanin, 6-1, 6-3 to win the Flight 3 championship. 

Raymond and junior Brandon Gallegos, earned a Flight 1 championship in doubles action.   The pair defeated Robert Wesleyan’s team of Beka Buchukuri and Julio Toledo, 8-3 and Merrimack’s Chris Barnhart and Vince Bellino, 8-4.

The Niagara men’s tennis team is back in action at the ITA Regionals at Cornell from Oct. 21-23.
