Baseball Drops Mid-Week Showdown With Buffalo

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - The Niagara baseball team dropped a mid-week contest with local rival Buffalo on Wednesday, 21-4.

Junior Cam Stykemain went 3-for-4 on the day, scoring in the first after being hit by a pitch and singling in his final three at bats.

Senior Matt Wietlispach doubled home Adam Wagner in the ninth inning for the Purple Eagles' lone extra-base hit on the afternoon.

The Bulls offense scored in seven of the nine innings, as every started collected at least one hit and knocked in one run in the win.

Freshman Kody Kasper took the loss on the mound. llowing five runs, four earned on five hits in 3.1 innings of work.

The Purple Eagles are back in action on Saturday, when they host MAAC rival Marist at Sal Maglie Stadium in a doubleheader, starting at noon.
