NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - The Niagara baseball team (12-13) dropped a pair of games to Big Four rival St. Bonaventure (15-9) on Tuesday at Sal Maglie Stadium. The Bonnies won the opening game by a count of 8-4, and ran away with game two 12-4.

The Bonnies batted around and scored four runs on just three hits in the first inning, setting the tone for the day.
Michael Kellar (Colifax, Ill.) couldn't find the plate in his fifth start of the year, walking two batters and hitting one of the six he faced, recording just one out. Brad Lueck (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) pitched well in relief, allowing two hits and two unearned runs in four innings, retiring 11 of the first 14 batters he faced.
Harrison Helms (Matthews, N.C.) pitched out of a jam in the sixth inning, turning a no-out, runners at second and third situation into one run scored.
Harrison Harber (Kanata, Ont.) was one of two Purple Eagles to go hitless in the first game, but the second baseman knocked in two runs, both on RBI ground outs. Cam Stykemain (Defiance, Ohio) and Andrew Macdonald (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) both went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the loss. Seniors Frank Kurnik (Reno, Nev.) and Tim Alberts (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) each had a hit and an RBI for Niagara.
St. Bonaventure 12, Niagara 4
The Bonnies scored four times in the second and seven times in the fourth en route to an eight-run victory in game two. In his first career appearance, Tom Reiker (Lewiston, N.Y.) took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits with three walks and a strikeout.
The Purple Eagles offense managed just four hits in the loss. Bobby Lenhard (Rochester, N.Y.) and Graham Skelhorne-Gross (Mississagua, Ont.) each had base hits off the bench, including Skelhorne-Gross' sixth-inning double. Timothy Cozier (Ajax, Ont.) recorded a sacrifice fly for his first RBI of the season.
The Purple Eagles continue non-league, Big Four action on Wednesday with a single game at Buffalo at 4 p.m.
