Men’s, Women’s Tennis Shutout Robert Morris

WEXFORD, Pa. – The Niagara University men’s (2-0) and women’s tennis (3-0) teams opened their spring seasons with 7-0 shutouts of Robert Morris Saturday at the New Life Tennis and Fitness Center in Wexford, Pa.

Double winners for the Purple Eagle men’s team included senior Justin McConkey (Newmarket, Ont.), juniors Alex Abji (Vancouver, B.C.) and Walter Garcia (Oaxaca, Mexico), and sophomores Roman Filian and Nick Bolea (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield).

On the women’s side, seniors Jennifer Cremieux (Ajax, Ont.), Julianne Prokopich (Loretto, Ont.) and Jacquelyn Cary (Selkirk, N.Y.) were all double winners for the Purple Eagles.

The men’s team returns to action Sunday at 10:30 a.m. vs. Duquesne while the women are idle until Feb. 3 when they travel to Cleveland State.
