NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University women’s tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory over Robert Morris Sunday afternoon in non-conference dual action at the Niagara Courts. The Purple Eagles finish the regular season 12-8 overall with the triumph.
Senior Mariam Al-Shikarchy (Fonthill, Ont.) closed her home career out in style by winning 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and added an 8-0 victory in No. 1 doubles. She finishes the regular season with a 16-3 dual record in singles.
Niagara enters the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships with a three-match win streak. The MAAC Championships will be held April 23-25 at Flushing, N.Y., at the U.S. Open Tennis Center.
