Sophomore Andrew MacNevin

The Niagara University baseball team (26-26) continues its push for postseason play Friday at 11 a.m. when it plays Marist (25-29) in game 3 of the 2004 Anaconda Sports/Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, N.Y.

The No. 2 seed Purple Eagles dropped their opening game of the tournament, 7-2, to No. 3 seed Manhattan Thursday afternoon. The No. 4 seed Red Foxes fell 8-2 to top seeded Le Moyne Thursday evening.

The game could experience rain delays as the Poughkeepsie area is expecting rain until the middle of the afternoon.

The winner of the Friday morning's game would advance to a 7 p.m. outing with the loser of the Le Moyne-Manhattan contest that is scheduled for a 3 p.m. first pitch.

All the Purple Eagles' game can be heard live on www.PurpleEagles.com with Matt Schmidt and Paul Barker calling the action from Dutchess Stadium.
