Fuller Leads Purple Eagles to Victory with Game Winning Hit in 11th

Niagara University, NY- Freshman first basemen Matt Fuller (Syracuse, NY) delivered a game winning single in the bottom of the 11th to lead the Purple Eagles to a 9-8 victory over the UB Bulls. Fuller was set up by junior left fielder Tim Fitzgerald (Orchard Park, NY) who two batters earlier doubled off the left center wall.

Senior Josh McCurdy (Thornhill, Ont) continued his record setting year as he tied the single season home run record at 11. Josh was 2-5 with two RBI.

Having multi hit games for the Purple Eagles were Josh McCurdy 2-5, Tim Fitzgerald 2-6, Matt Fuller 2-3, Jeff Vincent (Syracuse, NY) 2-4, and Dan Parson (Liverpool, NY).

With the win Niagara improves to 22-21 on the year and idles at 12-8 in MAAC play.

The Purple Eagles head back to the diamond on Saturday in a conference battle with top seeded Lemoyne. Game time is scheduled for a noon start in Syracuse, NY.
