Syracuse, NY- The Niagara University Purple Eagles split a twinbill on Saturday with MAAC leading Le Moyne.
Mark Bomar (Austin, TX) was 2-4 in a game one loss with two home runs. The Dolphins took game one by a score of 8-4.
Going into game two the Purple Eagles had their backs to the wall in a must win situation with playoff hopes on the line. Niagara delivered big in game two with a 5-3 win over the Dolphins. James Avery (Moose Jar, SK) earned his team best sixth win on the year.
Avery improves to 6-1 in MAAC play. Reed Eastley (Brandon, MB) lead the way in game two with two hits, two walks and one RBI.
With the split Niagara moves to 23-22 overall and 13-9 in MAAC play. Le Moyne moves to 26-15 overall and 18-3 in MAAC play. Game three of the weekend series will be played Sunday afternoon in Syracuse, NY for a noon start.
