Funk is a four-year mainstay behind the dish for the Purple Eagles, playing in 146 games and starting 131 of them. For the past two seasons, she has also served as co-captain for her leadership skills.

This spring, Funk appeared in seven of Niagara's 10 games, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, colleting three hits, three RBI, and scoring two runs. Each of the RBI came on opening day, as Funk knocked one run in against Valparaiso and two more against Penn.

As a junior, Funk batted .211 with 13 runs scored and eight RBI. In Niagara's first MAAC Tournament in six years, she went 4-for-11 with two walks and two RBI. Put up a season-best three hits in a 3-for-3 effort against Iona (May 10).

Funk opened her sophomore season with with three hits, two runs, and two RBI, and a walk against Cleveland State (Feb. 9). She had a three-game stretch in which she batted .667 with three RBI and two runs scored.

In her debut season, Funk batted .208 with four doubles, 11 RBI, and six runs scored. She also had three games with multiple hits and three games with multiple RBI. A season highlight was her 2-for-3 effort in Niagara's first-ever win over ACC opponent Syracuse (Apr. 18).

Funk is a two-time MAAC All-Academic selection who has made Dean's List seven times, was given the Taps Gallagher Award in 2019, and is a member of the West Seneca Civic and Patriotic Committee. Funk is working toward a graduate degree in Secondary Education, and will be returning for a fifth season on Monteagle Ridge in 2021.
