Josh Wilson served as the lone captain on the 2019-20 Niagara University men’s tennis team. 

Wilson, who is the active leader in wins, won a career-high 12 singles matches as a sophomore which were second most on the 2017-18 Purple Eagles. Wilson suffered an injury which ended his 2018-19 season, but he remained an active member on the team; attending practices and matches to support his teammates. 

After competing in a few matches in the fall of 2019, he returned to the lineup for the spring slate of matches. He played primary in the three spot in singles and in the No. 1 spot in doubles. Wilson won his last three doubles matches (two with Darrel Harxhi and one with Pere Padro). 

A three-time MAAC All-Academic honoree and a 2018 ITA Scholar-Athlete, Wilson will earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He plans on pursuing a master’s degree while competing for the Purple Eagles next season.
