Niagara University, NY - Former Niagara women's volleyball player Sydney Wilkes signed with Niki Alexandroupolis in the Greek A2 Etniki division.

"I am extremely excited and proud of Sydney for signing her first professional contract with Niki Alexandroupolis," coach Ren Cefra said, "During the start of her senior year she mentioned that she would like to pursue a professional career overseas and she has worked hard to achieve this goal. Sydney signing this professional contract shows how much our volleyball program has grown over the years." 

Wilkes appeared in 199 sets for the Purple Eagles during her two seasons on Monteagle Ridge. During her senior season, Wilkes recorded a team leading 275 kills, hitting .261, tallying 58 digs and 49 blocks. She Registered career-high 20 kills against Iona and hit season-high .467 with 18 kills against Manhattan.
