EDISON, NJ – Niagara freshman Nick Cote was named MAAC Rookie of the Player, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Cote went a combined 5-for-9 at the plate, hitting .556. The Oakville, Ontario native made his debut in a pinch hit situation in the Purple Eagles season opener and recorded a double.
Cote recorded back-to-back multi-hit games to close out the series with an RBI in the second contest.
Niagara will return to action on Friday for the first of a three game series against Old Dominion.
