NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. — Niagara (15-25, 10-14 MAAC) fell in a midweek non-conference contest to Le Moyne 9-3 on Tuesday at Bobo Field.
How It Happened
Le Moyne got started right out of the gates, plating three runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by singles from Sullivan and Anthony.
Niagara responded with two runs in the bottom of the second, starting with Vincent Mauro scoring on a wild pitch, followed by Jason Green scoring on a Carmen Panaro groundout.
The Dolphins extended their lead in the third with an RBI double, while plating two more runs in the fourth to make it a four run game. The Purple Eagles got their final run of the game in the bottom of the fourth with Mauro scoring on a Jacob Brooks groundout.
Le Moyne added three insurance runs in the second half of the contest, highlighted by a two-run homer off the bat of Farina.
In a bullpen day for the Purple and White, nine pitchers got action with Matthew Delvecchio getting the start. Johnny Montgomery, Carter Hall, CJ Hurley, John Ondus, Andrew Baumgart, Ethan McNish-Heider, Jack Dickinson and Gage Wheaton all threw at least 0.2 innings.
