Niagara Falls in Regular Season Finale to Siena

Niagara University, NY - Niagara (7-10, 5-3) closed out the regular season, falling to Siena 18-13 at Hickey Field in Loudonville, NY on Saturday.

It was a back and forth first quarter as Niagara struck first with the first two goals of the game with Michaela Delles finding the back of the net twice. Siena came back with two goals of their own to tie the game. Olivia Ng and Giordan Peck gave the Purple Eagles the lead again but it didn't last long as the Saints once again scored two goals of their own to knot the game up at four. 

Siena struck first in the second quarter, beating Haley Terry twice to open up the frame. Maddy Gill cut the Saints lead to one, but Siena answered right back with two more goals to make it a three goal lead. Hannah Kent beat the Saints keeper for the Purple Eagles final goal of the half. The Saints added one more goal before the end of the half to make it a 9-6 game.

The Saints grew their lead to five with two goals to start the second half. Maddy Gill found the back of the net for the Purple Eagles' only goal of the quarter. Siena responded with three more goals to close out the quarter.

Gill potted her hat-trick goal of the game to start the fourth quarter, but Siena answered back to keep it a seven goal game. The Purple Eagles scored three straight to gut the lead to four with tallies from Ng, Jaclyn Crane and Peck. The Saints found the back of the net three more times in the quarter, while Ng completed her hat-trick and Abberly Dela Rosa rounded out the scoring for Niagara.

Haley Terry got the start in net making seven saves.

• Niagara is now 17-14 against the Saints.

• Gill extended her team lead in goals to 51 with her eighth hat-trick of the season. 

• Ng tied a season-high with her three goals in the loss.

• Peck tallied a season-high four points with two goals and two assists.
