BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Niagara University men's hockey forward
Shane Ott has signed a professional contract with the Bloomington Bison of the ECHL, the team announced Thursday.

Ott, a senior forward, completed his collegiate career last weekend after four seasons with the Purple Eagles. The versatile center amassed 100 points (32 goals, 68 assists) in 149 career games at Niagara.

During his senior campaign in 2024-25, Ott recorded 34 points (9 goals, 25 assists) and posted a plus-6 rating in 35 games. He was particularly effective on special teams, scoring one power-play goal and one short-handed goal this season.

"Shane has been a cornerstone of our program for four years," said Niagara head coach
Jason Lammers. "His leadership, two-way play and scoring ability will translate well to the professional level. We're proud of his development and excited to watch him begin this next chapter."

The four-year Purple Eagles, improved his offensive production each season at Niagara. After recording 18 points as a freshman in 2021-22, Ott posted 28 points his sophomore year and finished his career with back-to-back seasons of 20 and 34 points, respectively.
