Box Score NIAGARA University, N.Y.— DeJour Reaves scored 23 points, including the game-winning jump shot with 3 seconds left, as Iona edged Niagara 65-63 in MAAC conference play Friday night at the Gallagher Center.
How it Happened
Niagara (10-18, 5-12 MAAC) staged a spirited second-half comeback but fell just short in the final moments. The Purple Eagles outscored Iona 35-31 in the second half after trailing 34-28 at halftime.
Josiah Davis led Niagara with 18 points while
Jaeden Marshall added 12 points off the bench.
Olumide Adelodun contributed nine points, including two critical 3-pointers in the second half, while
Justin Page also scored nine points.
The Purple Eagles briefly took their first lead since the opening minute when
Will Shortt's tip-in with 3:48 remaining put them ahead 56-55. However, Iona's Adam Njie Jr. answered with a turnaround jumper on the next possession to reclaim the lead.
After trailing by as many as 11 points midway through the first half, Niagara fought back to tie the game at 63 on Davis' layup with 19 seconds left. Davis finished 6-of-13 from the field with five rebounds and two assists.
Niagara's defense forced 16 Iona turnovers and recorded eight steals, with Adelodun accounting for five of those steals. The Purple Eagles also dominated at the free throw line, shooting 73.3 percent (11-of-15) compared to Iona's 41.7 percent (5-of-12).

• Niagara's record drops to 40-55 all-time against Iona.
• Davis has now led the team in scoring three times this season. It is his eighth time this season scoring double-digit points.
• Marshall recorded his 14
th double-digit game this season.
• The Purple and White shot over 40.0 percent from the field for the sixth-straight game.
• Page led the team in assists with four along with tying a career-high.
• Adelodun recorded a career-high in steals with five and becomes the second Purple Eagle this season to record five steals in a game this season.
