CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Niagara baseball opened its 2025 season with a 14-2 loss to Miami on Friday night at Alex Rodriguez Park, as the Purple Eagles were unable to overcome a 10-run fourth inning by the Hurricanes.

How it Happened
Curtis McKay provided one of the bright spots for Niagara, launching a solo home run as part of the Purple Eagles' eight-hit attack.
Shawn Cameron and
Nate Milk each collected two hits, while
Jacob Brooks added an RBI single.

Starting pitcher
Gage Wheaton kept Niagara in the game early, allowing three runs over the first three innings before Miami broke it open in the fourth. The Purple Eagles' defense committed five errors which led to several unearned runs.

Niagara showed some resilience late, manufacturing single runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.
Connor Schramm came off the bench to deliver a pinch-hit single, while
Jason Green added a double.

Eddie Dolansky provided a strong finish out of the Niagara bullpen, striking out four batters over two scoreless innings to close out the game.
