Men's Basketball Adds Chigeru, Presutti to Coaching Staff

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Niagara University men's basketball head coach Greg Paulus has announced the additions of Jake Presutti and Charles Chigeru as assistant coaches.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jake and Charles to the Niagara Basketball program," said Paulus. "Both bring unique experiences, high character, and a shared commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the court."

Presutti joins the Purple Eagles after serving as the associate head coach at the University at Buffalo for the past two seasons. Prior to that, he held coaching positions at the University of Pittsburgh and Marquette University, where he was promoted from video coordinator to assistant coach over a seven-year span. His background also includes work with NBA and USA Basketball organizations.

A native of Belmont, N.Y., Presutti began his college playing career as a walk-on at Syracuse University, later earning a scholarship. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in Child and Family Studies.

"I'm thrilled to join Greg at Niagara University, where his focus is on relationships, leadership, and player development," said Presutti. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to remain in Western New York and continue serving this basketball community. Thank you to Greg and Niagara University for this opportunity."

"Jake's understanding of the game and his experience across multiple levels of basketball will be a tremendous asset," said Paulus. "He'll play a vital role in our daily player development and culture."

Chigeru comes to Niagara from East Mississippi Community College, where he served as an assistant coach, helping lead program planning, player development, and recruitment.

Chigeru's coaching journey includes stops at Nicholls State, Coppin State University, and South Alabama, where he served as Special Assistant to the Head Coach. He began his coaching career at St. Thomas University, managing operations and scouting responsibilities.

Chigeru is a former player at Barry University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management in 2016.

"To God be the glory for the great things He has done!" said Chigeru. "I'm incredibly thankful to Coach Paulus, Director of Athletics Simon Gray, and Father Maher for this life-changing opportunity. I look forward to serving Niagara University, its basketball program, and this amazing community with professionalism, passion, and gratitude."

"Charles is a connector," said Paulus. "His ability to build relationships and mentor student-athletes holistically has made a positive impact at every stop in his career. We're excited for him to bring that same energy to Niagara."
