OLEAN, N.Y. – Three Purple Eagles recorded double figures, led by
Olumide Adelodun's game-best 19 points, but Niagara struggled from the field in a 71-52 loss to St. Bonaventure on Saturday at the Reilly Center.
How it Happened
The Purple Eagles (5-7) shot just 34 percent overall and made only 8-of-28 attempts from 3-point range against the Bonnies (12-1).
Zion Russell added 11 points and
Jaeden Marshall had 10 for Niagara, which never led in the contest.
St. Bonaventure, led by Chance Moore's 16 points and three fellow Bonnies in double figures, took control early, building a 33-20 halftime advantage behind strong perimeter shooting. The Bonnies' lead grew to as many as 25 points in the second half.
Niagara's offense showed signs of life after halftime, scoring 32 second-half points while shooting nearly 45.0 percent from the field, but couldn't overcome the early deficit.

• The Purple Eagles finished 10-for-11 at the line and are 16-for-18 over the last two games.

• Adelodun led NU in scoring and rebounding for the fourth and sixth time this season, respectively. The senior hit five of Niagara's eight 3-pointers.
• Russell notched his fourth double-digit scoring performance in the loss.
