NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - Freshman
Ola Bodyl led a record-breaking performance by Niagara women's swimming in a dominant 178-76 victory over Stonehill on Saturday.
Bodyl set a new pool record in the 400-yard individual medley (4:29.10) while also winning the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.03), showcasing her versatility across multiple disciplines.
Sophomore
Natalie Killion added to the Purple Eagles' record-setting day, establishing a new pool and program standard in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.63. Fellow sophomore
Alaina Pitton joined the record-breaking performances by setting a new mark in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.04).
The Purple Eagles showed their depth throughout the meet, with
Maria Mitova winning the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.94), and
Paige South capturing both the 100-yard backstroke (57.22) and 100-yard butterfly (58.16).
Avery King also earned a win in the 1,000-yard free (10:34.09).
Niagara also dominated the relay events, winning the 200-yard breaststroke relay (2:01.64) and the 200-yard butterfly relay (1:43.52). The team of
Claire Gorton,
Mary Carl,
Shani Fridman, and
Megan Jackson closed strong in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a winning time of 1:37.00.
