Killion Earns MAAC Swimmer of the Week

EDISON, N.J. - Niagara University women's swimming sophomore Natalie Killion has been named MAAC Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

For Killion, this is her second MAAC Swimmer of the Week honor of the season. She was last named MAAC Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 16.

The sophomore put together an impressive meet for Niagara against Gannon last Saturday, showcasing her dominance in backstroke events winning both the 100 backstroke (56.10) and 200 backstroke (2:04.77) events. Her 100 backstroke performance was particularly noteworthy, with strong splits of 27.17 and 28.93 en route to the Oxy Aquatic Center record. Killion also proved to be a valuable relay contributor, leading off Niagara's winning A team in the 200 medley relay with a swift 26.55 split. Her consistent performances across both individual and relay events helped propel Niagara to their decisive team victory over Gannon.

Killion and Niagara will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 17 at Waterloo, before taking on Canisius on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Burt Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo, N.Y.
