Fiske Earns Hobey Baker Nomination

St. Paul, Minn.—Niagara goalie Jarrett Fiske has been named a Hobey Baker Memorial Award nominee. The initial list was released on Friday.

Fiske currently has a 2.58 goals against average this season along with a .912 save percentage. He has appeared in 15 games this season for Niagara as a graduate student. He holds a 9-6-0 record this season.

On Jan. 12, the Erie, Pa. native was named to his second straight Mike Richter Award Watch List, he is one of just 32 goalies across the NCAA to be named to the list.

Fiske is one just three goalies from Atlantic Hockey to be nominated.

In his career, Fiske has 1,074 career saves which ranks him sixth among active goalies in the AHA and first among goalies with 50 or less career games. He averages 24.98 saves per game which is fourth among active AHA goalies with 40 or more games played. He has a .918 save percentage in his career along with a 2.50 goals-against average.

Over the last two seasons he has collected four assists as well.

Niagara has now had a goalie nominated for the Hobey Baker in back-to-back seasons.

The Purple Eagles are back in action on Feb. 1 as they welcome No. 19 RIT to Dwyer Arena for the first half of a home and home series. Niagara will host Star Wars night with fans encouraged to wear Star Wars Costumes, faceoff is set for 7 PM.
