Little Joins Lacrosse Coaching Staff

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Former Denver women's lacrosse standout Molly Little has been named women's lacrosse assistant coach, head coach Wendy Stone announced Wednesday morning.

"We could not be happier to announce that Molly is joining us here at Niagara," commented Stone. "She is a proven winner and was instrumental in Denver's recent success as a player and coach. We look forward to having her championship experience on our sidelines."

Little spent the 2023 season as a member of the Jacksonville women's lacrosse coaching staff, where she served as defensive coordinator and draw coach and helped lead the Dolphins to an ASun Championship. Under her guidance, the Jacksonville defense was one of the best in the country, finishing as the 14th-ranked scoring defense in the nation with 9.3 goals allowed per game. The Dolphin's draw control unit finished the season with a 58.2 percent mark on the draw, 10th best in the country, and saw two players record over 100 draw controls.

Little was a standout defender for the Denver women's lacrosse program from 2017 to 2021.

In her four years at Denver, Little reached ninth in school history for caused turnovers with 76 and second in career draw controls with 214. She was also able to amass many major awards, including being named to the Tewaarton Award Watch List twice, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year in 2021, IWLCA Second Team All-America in 2021, ILWCA All-West/Midwest Region First Team twice, and BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on six different occasions.

Named team captain for the 2021 Pioneers, Little helped lead Denver to an 18-3 record while winning both the BIG EAST regular season and tournament championships.

Following her collegiate playing career, Little joined the Denver staff as a volunteer assistant coach. As an assistant, she focused closely on the defense and draw unit, helping Abby Jenkins become the school record holder for single-season draw controls and draw controls in a single game.

Little continued her playing career after graduating from Denver, playing in the first two seasons of Athletes Unlimited.
