Niagara Announces Hockey Promotional Schedule

Niagara University, N.Y.—Niagara Athletics announced the promotional schedule for the 2023-24 Niagara Hockey season.

On Oct. 20, Niagara will host an open skate with members of the Niagara hockey team, that will be followed by an autograph session with the team. The event will take place at Dwyer Arena and will start at 6 PM.

The following night on Oct. 21, Niagara opens the home portion of its schedule as they host the Mercyhurst Lakers. Prior to the game, there will be a student tailgate and fans will receive a schedule magnet. 50 students will receive a free Niagara winter hat, once a student receives their free ticket, they will be entered into a drawing with winners announced throughout the game.

Friday, Nov. 3 the Purple Eagles host Air Force at 7 PM, it will be Military Appreciation Night as the Purple Eagles host the Falcons.

Niagara welcomes its new Hall of Fame Class the weekend of Nov. 17 and will have Bob Dwyer Recognition Night on Nov. 17 as Niagara hosts Robert Morris. Along with the recognition for Bob Dwyer '65, Niagara welcomes all staff and faculty for Staff and Faculty Appreciation Night.

The Purple Eagles open December on the road but return to Dwyer Arena on Dec. 9 as they host Robert Morris. Niagara will honor the 2003-04 team that captured the program's second CHA Championship and earned the program its second NCAA Tournament appearance. Niagara will host a teddy bear toss against the Colonials. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears that will be thrown onto the ice following the first Niagara goal.

Niagara hosts Miami (OH) on Dec. 29 and 30, on Dec. 29 Niagara will have Niagara Falls Night which will be followed by First Responder Night and Youth Hockey Night on Dec. 30.

RIT comes to Dwyer Arena on Jan. 11 and Feb. 1. On Jan. 11 the Purple Eagles will host Disco Night. In the second matchup it will be Star Wars Night at Dwyer Arena.

In the final full home weekend for the Purple Eagles, Army comes to Dwyer on Feb. 16-17. Feb. 16 will be a Resident Hall Challenge Night in which the different resident halls will battle throughout the game. Feb. 17 will be Country Night at Dwyer Arena.

Niagara hosts Mercyhurst on Feb. 22 for the final home regular season game. Niagara will honor their seniors while also honoring its season ticket holders on Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night.

Niagara opens the 2023-24 season on Friday Oct. 13 as they travel to Omaha for a two game series.
